Day 2:
- Most surprising (in a good way) book of this year?
That would have to be 84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. My sister read it and loved it, so I picked it up and just dove right in. I must have been about halfway finished when I realized that it was all real. The letters were all real.
I had thought it was fiction it was so perfect and magical and witty, full of warmth and generosity. But it was all real, a truth brought to bear with the ending. I cannot recommend this gem of friendship and a love of books highly enough!
- Most disappointing book/book you wish you enjoyed more than you did?
This is distressingly easy to answer.
Winterspell by Claire Legrand.
